High iso's...why?

High iso's...why?

One question I've been asking myself for awhile...at certain levels on any camera you can only raise the ISO up by so much till the pic is "unusable" yet I always see people throwing the max iso range out there like shooting at 6400 or up should be considered as a benefit of buying a camera....why do camera makers push this range WAAAAY pass the extreme? Is it that big of a market of people that love taking noisy pictures? (I know some that do it intentionally) or is it just one of those things where you say "hey, lets just do it cause we can"
