Ricoh updates and releases a new GR every 2 years. So around 2015 and 2017 we will be seeing a new GR.

With new releases of a very inexpensive and relatively compact Sony A7 (the most compact and cheapest to date), this will obviously influence GR designers and Ricoh to compete in the FF market in the future sooner or later, to stay relevant and also because they are all about that niche (compact, high quality, true "photographer's camera" niche).

Additionally, there will most likely be more compact and inexpensive FF compact cameras to be released next year, 2014, and beyond. Most likely Fuji will update their X100s or release a totally new model (maybe an X200 perhaps?), with a slimmer design than the a7 or rx1, similar to the X100s, but with an FF sensor. If they releases a an x200 with an FF sensor, the size and slimness of their current x100s and with a price under $2k (or even under $1.5k); then this will be the smallest, slimmest and most inexpensive FF compact camera.

Now this leaves Ricoh with no compact FF camera; while Fuji has a nice, inexpensive, small and slim FF X*00. Will this push Ricoh to release a FF GR?
