Why are there no cameras with viewfinder on the right?

Yes, those add-on EVFs, that attach to the hot shoe, are quite attractive, in my opinion, especially the ones that pivot upwards, such as the one marketed by Leica for the X2. The most recent shoe-mount EVF from Olympus seems to be well-regarded by such reviewers as Ming Thein.

I wear a badge and pistol, and, primarily with 7D cameras, with 10-22mm and 100mm Macro L lenses, shoot evidentiary images at night, which incorporates elements of portrait, macro, still life, landscape, architecture, PJ, and occasional action.
