It might be very small, but it still manages to pack in a host of features currently missing from the M.

Flash, WiFi, remote control, 43 focus points, "lightning fast" AF, Focus Peeking (even on the remote wifi App)

Would hope the M2 will measure up well against that..

The GM1 is only a m4/3 sensor.

That may be a consideration for some.

Of course,

But I don't want to have to trade off sensor-size against a host of what are becoming obligatory features in this class of camera. It isn't like the GM1 is a top of the range model from the M43 camp.

But there are a lot of cameras out there you can choose from besides the Canon EOS-M:

Look at the offerings from Fuji, vrey nice cameras with APS chips, very sharp with their specialy sensors.

Then there is Samsung with a nice line of very good cameras, with a wide choice of lenses.

And of cource there is the Sony Nex line, with a lot of nice cameras.

And there is the new A7/A7r FF cameras without any compromise, but at a high price (but low for FF cameras).

Don't stick to one brand, as all these cameras can adapt Canon DSLR lenses by adapter, some even with AF and/or some special lens in it that gives the Canon FF lenses back their FF focal length and add extra aide apperture...

As long as Conon does not come with a new EOS-M there is where you should look for a new option...
