What was your first camera ever that sparked your interest in photography?

Looking back, now realize that fabulous camera was giving me the near-instant feedback we now take for granted in the digital photography era. That was the camera that got me interested in photography, to the extent that cameras did so. Of more motivation for me was the beautiful work of Berenice Abbott, the prodigy Jacques Lartigue, etc, and the photography interest of influential friends.

Yes, my first photos were god-awful. But I was 12 years old and it was mine. I have never been a gear snob and this is Exhibit A.
