Confirmed, D800 LF problem cannot be fixed.

sorry to be the one to break the bad news, but... The same exact thing happened when I sent in my D800E for LF issues. They took their time and by the time I received my camera back it was worse than before. After the "repair" at Melville L.I. I took a few photos and the center was totally out of focus, same with the right side, all be it a little better than the center focus points. The left side was sharp and in focus now... what a trade of. I returned it the next day in person. Nikon Melville L.I. replace my D800E with what they told me was a new camera but judging from the scratches on the battery and the less than new showing up on th battery info I doubt it was. The first few images I took with the replacement D800E... ALL OUT OF FOCUS... AGAIN, on the left side (front focusing). I called but could not reach the Tech Support Specialist handling my case (Alfredo A). I later missed his call. I became frustrated, returned my D7100, sold some of my Nikon lenses and purchased a 5D mark III, 24-70mmII & 70-200mm isII. I left the Nikon in a bag for months. I recently returned it to Melville and I am requesting a refund. If they refuse I will be taking them to small claims court. I have been through 5 defective D800e (s) in a row. I can't stand it anymore. I will just settle with the inferior IQ of the Canon 5d Mark III & the superior Canon L glass. Still have to sell my Sigma 35mm art, 50mm f1.4 esdg & 85mm f1.4G now.
