The RX100 is worth the money. Because of its state of the art sensor and Zeiss lens, it has better IQ than my Nex 3N with 1650 kit lens. Even my Nex 7 with another selp1650 kit lens is only just about equal. Noise performance is also better than the simpler APS-C sensors. So don't let yourself be fooled by all those misguided people that think their bigger sensor is better,  they have probably never made a comparison!
Personally I think the RX100 is too small, with fiddly buttons and poor interface. But boy is the IQ good! And now you even get the flip screen and even better sensor in the RX100II .
