Only you can really answer that, but my answer is it's a bargain for what you get as a whole package.  I'm saying that having owned an LX7, XZ2, X100S and several other compact cameras.  The thing that makes the RX100 unquestionably worth the high cost for me is that - although not perfect and in fact being subject to several notable compromises - it nevertheless delivers consistently very high quality images in a package that fits into my shirt pocket.  None of the other compact cameras I've owned deliver the quality images in a package that small.  You can get better, you can get smaller, but in my opinion the RX100 hits a really sweet spot on the balance among the various factors.  YMMV...
