Very true.

For BIF I use either all AF points or (for larger birds where I want to focus on or nearer the eye) a group of 9 which I move about with the joystick. I find it almost impossible to track a small bird in flight with a single or expanded AF point but I'm sure there are folks out there who manage it!

Another pro for the 7D is the very flexible AF system, including being able to assign different AF points to different back focus buttons, and to have different points assigned depending on whether the camera is in landscape or portrait position.
