Image Sizes Different From Same MP Cameras
11 months ago

I just received my new Nikon P7800 and have made several pictures. Really great camera provides sharp images that respond well to post processing. I have a question and will try to provide data necessary to make an answer. Why are the images different sizes when made from my other same 12mp cameras? All on their best quality. Please see below......
-------------------------------------------------
#1 Nicon P7800 - (12mp)
4000 x 3000 pixels
13.333" x 10"
Resolution 300 p/in
Pixel dimensions 14.4m
-------------------------------------------------
#2 Canon SX40 (12mp)
4000 x 3000 pixels
22.222" x 16.667"
Resolution 180 p/in
Pixel dimensions 34.3m
-------------------------------------------------
Same camera as above
#3 Canon SX40 (12mp)
4608 x 3456 pixels
64" x 48"
Resolution 72 p/in
Pixel dimension 45.6m
.
My new camera, the P7800 makes smaller images, it seems.
.
Thanks, Dan
