Rick,

Do you find that the 18-35's weight causes the SD1 to feel 'unbalanced'? For example, the Nikons (D800/700) are fairly small with a slow zoom or a single prime on them. But put the 2.8 24-70 or 14-24 on them and it's a like a brick is hanging around your neck. I liked the SD1 and the 18-50 2.8 Macro (even though that's an out of production lens) because it was a light package. But it seems like the SD1 with the new 18-35 might be really heavy on the SD1. Any thoughts?

I was also shooting with the lens some - I didn't feel like is was a really heavy lens.  However I would say the feeling is pretty similar to the 24-70 f/2.8, so if you think that's overly heavy you'd probably feel the same way about the 18-35.  To me, heavy around the neck is something like the 70-200 (which I do use on the neck sometimes but mostly on tripod) or the 50-500...  The SD-1 itself has a certain amount of bulk so no matter what you attach to it it's going to be heavy I think!

If you want light, the DP-M cameras would be a better bet.  Like LarryJ has been saying, the 18-35 can act as a replacement for both a DP-1M and a DP-2M - but the same is true the other way around (although you don't get that nice f/1.8 with the DP-M cameras).
