GX-7 also arrived today.....but DOA :(

did a search and it seems like other models have had this error.

Basically, when you turn it on, it sounds like it tries to focus then gives me an error "Please turn camera off and then on again".

But I can't get out of this loop.  Tried taking the battery out.  Keeping on and taking SD card out.

No joy.

Any other tricks besides sending it back to B&H for an exchange?
