Nikon D7100 gets hot

Bought a D7100 and came home and used it for one hour with the live view on, taking maybe 10 test shots, and setting up the camera through menu. It then became hot on the lower right of the display, onto the black portion to the right of that, and on the right hand side of the bottom of the camera and up the right side where you rest your index finger. I returned it and exchanged for another, this time same scenario, but started getting warm after only 15 minutes. I had taken off the plastic protector that comes on the display. Is this something normal for D7100's when you use your live view screen or was I just lucky to get 2 from the same run? The battery was only mildy warm on the first, not at all on the second.
I'd love to pick up another somewhere else in hopes that it'll be out of a different batch because I loved the camera itself. Just can't hack having it hot on the right side . I have owned 3 other Nikons, none got/get even slightly warm after hours of shooting
