Which Large format printer (up to 17x22") to buy?

I already asked a few questions but after having done so, I found other printers that I may be interested in so I thought I'd kind of start all over again.

I had an HP B9180 but the priming it did every drove me nuts (money wise) so I want a printer that's better on ink and does NOT need to be primed every day or every time you start it up, like the 3880.

I would like to print at least 13x19" or even better, 17x22".

I want it to print in good quality on regular paper too.

I want a straight paper path for thicker paper and possibly labels.

I would LOVE to have something that has good water resistance on the print outs, especially on regular paper.

I would LIKE (not required) to be able to print out DVDs.

Ink Cartridge sizes please and also, let me know what size the cartridges are that come with the printer. If they are starter cartridges, or regular size but do they have the full amount in them?

Can I buy aftermarket cartridges, how much vs the brand name ones and HOW do they print (aftermarket).

One of the printers I looked at I found aftermarket cartridges for, for around a buck each or something. Hell, at that price, should I care about ink cost?

How's the support for each printer? I saw Canon's support hours were NOT 24 hours.

The support for the Canon 9500 MK 2 apparently included Instant Exchange program. Sounds good...!?

HP's support has gotten real crummy lately. Used to be they didn't argue with you and sent you a replacement. Now, they dog you a lot before replacing it.

I don't need anything fancy. A good color print is enough for me. I'm not a photographer and won't print any high quality pics. This is just for business to make signs for my resellers, make some good quality flyers and so on.

I will not do lots of printing.

I would love to have the 3880 but I can't afford it right now.

Thought of going with the Canon iX6520 but I can't find out if it's got a straight paper path for thicker paper.

Pros and cons of Dye and Pigment Ink?

Extended warranties, the cost and are they worth it?

Models UNDER $1000 please.

Thanks

George
