1000+ actuations and still good...

Since getting my D600 back from Melville this week, I've been putting it through some paces and after over 1000 actuations on the new shutter:

1) It's very clean - no "megadust".

2) It behaves as it should with respect to normal amounts of dust. The self clean and/or a few blasts of the blower were effective on the few spots I did get.

3) The location of any spots that do appear is random and not clustered in the upper left corner of the image.

As for quantity of spots, I can count 2 or 3 at any given time and they seem to go away on their own. This is very different from my original experience. I had tons of spots that would only go away after wet cleaning. And it required several passes to get them all. But now, I'm not inclined to clean my sensor unless I get a stubborn spot that causes issues.

And to their credit, they got the sensor very clean - cleaner than I ever remember.

So here's to hoping, I do enjoy my D600.
