Sorry, but BS. The mirror provides the SLR and the dSLR with something no "mirrorless" camera can EVER provide: A real-time, lag-free, eyestrain inducing flicker free view through the taking lens that consumes NO battery power. This makes the SLR and dSLR a photographic instrument without peer.

There is absolutely nothing compelling about "mirrorless" cameras that makes giving up the optical through the lens viewfinder necessary or even desirable, hence Thom''s "conclusion" is little more that a Rockwellesque attempt to drive traffic to his site that doesn't have much else "newsworthy" to chat up of late.
