I just sold my G1X but it's photos that make me regret it. The image quality is better than pretty much any mirrorless camera with a kit lens, except the Fuji 18-55 which is more expensive than your typical kit lens. I loved the image quality of the G1X and the stabilization was the best I've used. The reason I sold it though, is because I could never get myself to like the 4:3 aspect ratio. You could set the G1X to shoot 3:2 by cropping, but then I would be wasting a good chunk of the sensor.

The focus speed was never an issue for me, the minimum focus distance was a bit annoying but not a deal breaker. It definitely is a very underrated camera and a great value, a lens that is the quality of the G1X's for a mirrorless camera would cost significantly more than the entire G1X camera is currently selling for.
