Blindingly obvious color profiling tips
Sep 24, 2013

1. Turn off the room lights when profiling the monitor (to prevent light pollution)

2. Paper profiling: place the printed target on a stack of white paper for scanning (to prevent the color of the backing material from affecting the colorimeter reading)

Both had noticeable effect on the profiles--in particular, my test print with my first CMP paper profile came out with yellow skin tones. Then I noticed that some skin color patches of the target may have been sitting on a blue part of the backing I was using. Changing to an all white backing and re profiling gave perfect results
