I have split preference on these.

In #1 color in the medallion part is beautiful, and hints at all the excitement and pleasure one enjoys motoring in a fine car. Then in #2, absence of color in the grille bars evokes a mechanical aura, which speaks an important truth about the subject.

So, my ideal presentation would be the color medallion-crest of #1 amidst silver metallic bars of #2.
