It eliminates hunting in C-AF, which is huge. And pro video is not only movies (which are not shot on those dinky cameras anyway), but for example event/wedding videos, where a working pro simply cannot afford a separate focus puller guy, but focus error would cost him business. Oh I understand PDAF would help in video...if it actually worked as well in video as it does in stills, but at least from MR from LL, he seems to think AF on the E-M1 is...well...not the greatest to put it lightly. Mind you, I'm not certain anyone really tested PDAF with 43 lenses on the E-M1 yet. In any case, I haven't read PDAF being great for video. It could be, who knows, but at this time I think it's a question mark as to how useful it is (in video).
