Is lightroom officially better than aperture?

About a year ago, I was deciding between aperture and lightroom for my new mbp retina.  I looked all over the internet, and it looked like people said it was largely personal preference.  I had mac app store money to spend, and aperture would fit into the ecosystem/was retina ready etc. so I went for that, knowing they weren't that expensive and I could change later.

Now, I look on here and it seems like everyone uses lightroom, with someone calling it the industry standard.  Did something change?  Is lightroom the industry standard over aperture, now?  Was it always and did I misunderstand?  How hard is it to switch from aperture to lightroom?

I shoot jpegs on a d7000 and do most of my editing in photoshop, am considering switching to raws and considering buying a x100s.
