From the standard 'Viewing Uluru at Sunset' position, the 14-54 will be fine, as 35mm fills the frame. As I remember it - from 2005 - wider lenses would simply produce a smaller monolith against a backdrop of nothing much.

I presume that you will, at least, walk around the base at sunrise the following morning. Again, the 14-54 will be fine to capture the interesting contours of rock from this closer range.
