O.K. to take candid photos of kids you don't know?
Sep 14, 2013

I'm fairly new to this hobby. I'm primarily a landscape photographer but during a recent vacation I was stretching my horizons bit and "taking pictures of life". Some of them included photos of young (and not so young) children frolicking about being kids.

When I returned home and shared my photos with others, some of them commented that taking those kinds of shots was not a good idea because parents might not like it and I may end up answering to law enforcement why I was doing it.

Any thoughts or experience with this issue?
