What I like best, of course, is the sunbeam. It brings the scene to life. The contrast between the warm beam and what it does to brighten and colorize the otherwise less than colorful (somewhat gloomy) scene is, to me, what is appealing. (Rays of hope, to be philosophical) But then I do enjoy spooky old ruins and sunbeams so a photo that brings them together is bound to appeal.
