Sorry you've had the problems with that. My 12/2 is very, very sharp at all aperatures. My 17/2.8 isn't though.

The 17/1.8 is pretty good from most accounts.

I don't really know how one or at most two lenses is any indication of every single lens Olympus has made or will make (especially since most of their zooms are excellent and most of their primes are as well).
