B&W on the Pro-100 revisited.
Sep 9, 2013

Today I printed the same B&W image on RR’s Pecos River Gloss and on Canon Pro Luster. In both cases I let PS manage color and used the appropriate profile. What I found is that the print on the Canon paper had a slight, but noticeable warm tint. The RR print was perfectly neutral, neither warm nor cool.

I’m speculating, but this might be one of the reasons some have had difficulty getting neutral prints from the Pro-100.

I should emphasize that the warmth on the Canon paper was very slight. I thought it looked slightly warm but I couldn’t be 100% certain until I placed it next to the RR print.
