At the risk of sounding like a politician; I would now like to revise and extend my comments as I may have mis-spoke or behave been mis-informed. With that out of the way, it's force of habit from previous point and shoots, and . . . Well . . . I lied. Wholly 1% of the time I use the digital zoom to catch a casual shot I would otherwise miss. That requires switching to jpeg. I never use jpeg for anything commercial.
