Aluminum printing doubt(s)

Probably an incredibly dumb question, but....here goes.

Aluminum printing:

Printing at home on for example, an Epson Stylus Pro4880, with aluminum sheets will NOT result in the same quality as a metal print from say, Bayphoto will it?

The Epson way is ink jet, versus the Bayphoto way which is "infusing dyes directly into specially coated aluminum sheets"?

Correct?

and to try to emulate a Bayphoto style print, the machinery involved is waaay more complex, not to say expensive, right? Anybody know what it is?

Thanks for any clarifications as am baffled.

Doug
