Interesting.

Although EOS-M appeals more to me, it seems Nikon 1 was a much more ambitious system: new sensor; 2 models from the start; lens roadmap announced; all the colors; genuine achievements in AF and frames per second.

EOS-M is a high quality offering )especially build quality) that was easy to do: proven-existing APS-C sensor; form from Powershot compacts.  Actually, the EOS-M has less user features than entry-level P&Ss like the excellent 100HS.
