Re: Difference between CDAF & PDAF
In reply to A Riley, Aug 25, 2013

Note that there seem to be very recent and important developments on the PDAF without a mirror, on the main sensor: one is the Canon 70D, which is reported as AF focusing very well, thanks to a new type of sensor. It has been announced and previewed by several, and there are video clips about its AF work on You Tube. It should be available in a month or two. The other is the just announced Olympus E-M1 which nobody tried yet but is announced as being very fast with the ZD Olympus FT lenses as well. It has both PDAF and CDAF, and is expected to be on sale in two or three months. How well does it work, nobody knows, but it is a great hope for all the owners of excellent FT lenses.
