I think the noise pattern is what matters most. In this case I also see some colour noise in the sky and it can be distractive. Try removing only the colour noise and you will not loose detail. The luminance noise is the one that kills the detail but can present itself as "film like" grain. Sometimes I even like it on my 5d mk iii and I don't bother to denoise the image even at high ISO. Depends on the pattern  ( and this is totally random) and from picture to picture of course.
