What would you consider significant amount of dust? Would this qualify? I'm asking because in the past I've only cleaned the sensor when I saw dust in the images and haven't tested for dusts right after I purchased the camera. I'm not sure if I should return this for a "good" copy or if this is good enough. This is my second D600 and there is considerably less dust on this one than the previous one. Any advice would be appreciated.

You mean to say your first D600 had MORE dust than this one????? It must have looked like a battlefield.

You will undoubtedly hear: 1) send it to Nikon to clean and/or replace shutter, or 2) send it back for another exchange, or 3) clean it yourself, or 4) accept it as par for the course and don't stop down below f/5, or 5) return it for a refund and buy a Canon.

Good luck with your decision,
