As a user of the XE-1 EVF and a wearer of "transition" lens eyeglasses, I can tell you that the problem of the dark EVF is real! In bright sunlight when the transition lens turns dark the EVF of the XE-1 is practically useless. This is the same for the EVF of the XPro-1 as well as the X100s. For these cameras the OVF is a savior but we have not that choice for the XE-1. I was forced to buy another pair of glasses WITHOUT transition lenses in order to use the XE-1 in sunlight.
