WB when shooting RAW
Aug 20, 2013

I shoot exclusively raw (welll...raw + jpeg, but always process the raw file). As such, I dont really care about setting WB at all. I just correct it later (if required) in PP (LR4).

Now, I've seen many Pro photogs that DO set their WB to whatever they are shooting (e.g. Joe McNally), and I'm fairly sure that they shoot raw as well.

Is there any difference in the approach and is one better than the other (read: one will produce a final output that is better than the other)? I heard about the whole "getting it right in camera" thing but...is it really that important?

thx
