The only downside, and it is a major one, for the 200/2.8L and 135/2L is the lack of IS. Once you've shot the longer lenses hand held with IS, there is no way to go back to unstabilized The motion induced fuzziness destroys IQ of these fine lenses, unless you use a tripod or shoot at high shutter speeds. I'm sure IS version would cost more, but not like the 200/2L!
