the FZ for me is a great true all round camera for both stills and video

"Desert" in this expression means "deserted" not "sandy". A deserted island has no people, no hotels and no wifi. If you need a battery charger, make sure you get shipwrecked with one.

Maybe a pencil and a sketchbook would be more practical than a camera.
