Macro lenses could be used for portraits, especially the classy ones such as shooting just the eyes or the lips. Focus on these parts using a macro lens and you will get awesome results. Portrait lens however cannot be used for shooting macro elements. This is because, they cannot be able to focus on tiny objects and capture the minutest details.
