Taking pictures through a window is never a good idea and an opened window causes trouble as well. The flow of air (wind or a temperature difference) causes haze, especially at long focal lengths.

Try to shoot a video at  max zoom (300 mm or 600mm @35 mm eq) through an opened window. It's a constantly moving image. The greater the difference in temperature the more extreme the effect will be. In a video you can clearly see that a photo can't be sharp as well.

Now close the window and you will see that the movement is gone but you can clearly see the window.
