Aperture and iPhoto: worthwile save raw+jpeg or better only raw

I've read some old topics about that struggling decision.

On my new Nikon D600 i've enabled shoot raw (compressed) +jpeg (fine) and i've to import thousand of pic in my Aperture - iPhoto (using the same database).

I've read that Aperture creates automagically a fine jpeg pic when import only raw (don't know if iPhoto does the same and don't know what happens having the same database), so shooting raw+jpeg couldn't be useful ?

So the question (again): probably is it better to shoot only raw ?
