Thanks JC!

The packaging on the grip was so flimsy, I didn't think to look for the instructions (duh!!). According to the instructions, this grip has the same capability.  Yippiieee!!!  I rescind my 'USELESS!!!!' annotation.

DSTE forever!!!!!!!!

You are kidding!! That's hilarious! What is it for? haha!

I am pleased that this knock off does have at least some additional functionality other than just the shutter release (i.e. rear command dial and AE-L/AF-L). The real functionality of the focus point selector access (which the ridiculous icon seems to be taunting us with) is the main downside.

MB-D200 has the same thing.

Actually, with the MB-D200, you can set a10 so you can select the focus point by pressing the AF-ON button and the secondary dial simultaneously. When you do that the focus point moves in a spiral fashion across the 11 points.
