The 5D was prone to mirror failure. If you must use a 5D, be sure it has been to a Canon service center for the mirror fix, which a warranty repair.

That happened to me once on a wedding. The mirror just fell off during shooting.
Few weeks after two of my friends had the same problem on wedding.
Two years after 5d had a motherboard failure on a wedding..

I always carry two bodies so I was able to finish wedding with backup body both times.

5d is nice camera but you should ether borrow from a friend or rent another camera with all-round lens for backup.

You would probably need some telephoto lens also, so try to squeeze 85 1.8 in a budget which is great lens for posed photos of bride and groom, and low light shooting etc.

What about flash? You will need one too.
