Firmware bug in K-5 IIs
1

I found an obscure firmware bug in my K-5 IIs today. Pictures get underexposed and almost black if the following three conditions are met.

1) Stopping down the lens two or three stops to f/8 for instance
2) Using AA batteries in the vertical grip and no battery in the camera
3) Have the Pentax GPS mounted and turned on

If I turn off the GPS, pictures are correctly exposed. Or if I use D-LI90 in the vertical grip, it also works as expected. Batteries used was Lithium AA which has already taken around 1000 images on this set. They still show as full on the battery indicator and the camera is working fine with the gps turned off.
