Why buy a new Fuji X lens, when you can buy an equivalent fixed lens body for less?

Good idea. From a slighly different perspective: I wanted a smaller camera than my X-E1 with 18-55, but wanted a decent OVF/EVF and good low light ability (=larger sensor). That is why I ended up with an X100, which also serves as a great back-up body. Just a little more expensive than a pancake lens alone.

Be careful with Lloyd Chambers (who just has too many different subscriptions right now)though. He does some thorough testing but he is just "too emotional": something can be incredibly great in his opinion and then he stumbles over some flaw like Gitzo customer support or below-par Trans-X demosaicing in earlier versions of Lightroom and then suddenly a formerly or potentially great product sucks beyond belief in his opinion. Other example: he is quite vague about why Canon colors are the worst ever and Nikon colors are just amazing (both with Zeiss lenses)...
