well that's exactly it, Joe. I love to print but only for me, not commercially. I regularly spend weeks at a time where I don't print at all. Upon returning from road trips I would usually find my Epson unusable, the HP fired right up and printed. This was a very big plus for me. I recognize that the HP used ink to keep the heads clear but the estimated $100/yr cost of the wasted ink was money well spent.

I'm sorry to see them leave the market.

OK well, let's see. I have the following printers.

EPSON

Photo R340 ( Never clogs )

Photo R380 ( Never clogs )

Artisan 720 in CISSS with IS INKS ( never clogs regardless )

Stylus 1400 - two of them ( Never clogs )

Stylus 2200 - three of them ( a few nozzles will clog is left unused for 2-3 weeks - one cleaning will resolve it )

Photo R1900 - two of them ( a few nozzles will clog is left unused for 2-3 weeks - one cleaning will resolve it )

Photo R2000 ( Never clogs )

Photo R2400 ( Never clogs )

Photo R2880 ( Never clogs )

PRO 3800 - two of them ( Never clogs )

CANON

PRO 9000 MKII - three of them ( Never clogs )

PRO 9500 MKII - two of then ( Never clogs )

Only one is using OEM inks, the R2000, the rest run on Image Specialists inks, CONE inks, and OCP inks.

So as you can see I am either the luckiest printer owner and operator in the world, or maybe... I know what to do to keep printers from clogging regardless of brand.

Joe
