Thanks Kerusker. Mine is the SMC PENTAX 1;2.5 135mm version- SN: 5291529, but I have not found what the differences between the two versions are. I have found the following though

The K SMC lens seems to be identical to the third version of the Takumar variants

Variants:
1965: Super-Takumar 1:2.5/135 - see photo above and fist lens diagram
1971: Super-Multi-Coated TAKUMAR 1:2.5/135 (model 1) - first lens diagram

both with 5 elements in 4 groups.

1972: Super-Multi-Coated TAKUMAR 1:2.5/135 (model 2) - second lens diagram

with 6 elements in 6 groups

The latest variant has the same optical design with 6 elements as it's K counterpart. This latest variant suports open-aperture metering on Spotmatic F, ES and ESII.

Thanks for the info. I've re-read your post section in that thread.

Maybe you're interested in reading a comparison of 135 lenses:

http://forum.digitalfotonetz.de/userpix/3484_Vergleichstest_135mm.pdf

It's in German but images and tables can be evaluated easily and there are translation tools.

If I remember correctly the difference between the SMC 135 and SMC 135mm is visable in the color aberrations (seen on images like the ones with 'Halogen lamp'. When I bought mine (the 135mm) I also tried the other one (135) - if I remember correctly.

I also owned the Auto Revuenon but I've sold it later on.
