Re: Pentax as first DSLR?

My first digital SLR was an Olympus E-500, back in 2006, it was a great camera, built before the days of live-view and the IQ was really nice - it's still going, in my little brother's hands and he's taking some great shots with it!

However, having recently bought a K-5II, I am blown away by it - the value for money of Pentax cameras is second to none and they are so well built, fast in performance and, once you get used to all the extra features, flexible and powerful. The weather sealing is also a really nice touch and, whilst I haven't had time to put it to good use (with this scorching weather we are having) I will feel comfortable taking it out into the rain when we have thunderstorms next week!

I hope that you are happy with whatever DSLR you choose to get and I look forward to seeing your pictures!
