Of course not, it's definitely affecting overall image quality of the distant shots. But think about what you're doing. Trying to make conclusions based on a few early samples. How do you know he even focused at the same distance?  Early sample photographers are notorious for turning out horrendous photos. From ALL manufacturers. We've been seeing it for YEARS!
