I am using my Canon 550EX with my Panny GX1.  There two ways to use it, but no TTL.  The flash is on manual with bracketed shots.  I start with 1/8 to 1/4 power.

1)  Use the flash as a slave along with the camera's flash:  Get the FlashZebra optical slave  and the Deluxe PC to Flash hotshoe, if the flash does not have a PC pin mount.

2) Use the flash as the main flash via a wireless trigger: Cowboy Studio make a nice inexpensive (around $30) unit. Got it through Amazon. The trigger mounts on the hotshoe and the other part on the flash.  The flash can then be placed anywhere within 15-25 feet (not sure of the max distance)

I have both setups and they work within the above limitation (no TTL).  Any flash can work and some flash units may not unit the ZebraFlash unit to be triggered via a cheaper basic optical slave slave unit
