OMD EM5 gets warm when using non OEM battery
Jul 16, 2013

I am sorry if this has been covered before, I did a quick search but did not come up with much.  I recently got my OMD EM5 several months ago and have been using the Olympus batteries with it.  Yesterday, I tried using the non OEM battery (made by Progo) that I bought as a back up.  I noticed that if I did several runs of pictures in the high speed burst mode, the battery got very warm as did the memory card.  The terminals where the battery connected with the camera were warm.  Today, I tried doing repeated bursts of pictures with the Olympus battery and only the SD card got very mildly warm and the battery remained cool.

That's what I get for trying to save money and use a non OEM battery!  Anyone else have a similar experience?
