Most of the people rushing the demise of the DSLR are those who don't use them, and therefore don't understand why some of us DO. The reasons often given ('so the camera can be smaller', 'flipping mirror is unreliable', etc.) don't mean a thing to me.

I use a DSLR, and I'm "rushing the demise of the DSLR." My reasons are the usual ones. I wouldn't mind a smaller (but not too small) camera. The flipping mirror, if not unreliable, is at least noisy, takes up space, causes vibration, and generally prevents me from seeing through the viewfinder when taking video. The phase detect AF is sometimes a miss, and contrast detect doesn't work along with the viewfinder (nor does focus peaking). The OVF on anything less than a FF DSLR is small compared to your average 35 mm SLR; ironically, modern EVFs give bigger views. Etc., etc

I don't do video, and I don't want an EVF. If you need something other than a DSLR, then it's time for you to change. However, change the camera you use, not the one I use.

It's nice to say that nice pictures are nice. (sarcasm)
